Work to transform a popular Tottenham market into a modern and bustling shopping space is set to begin. Holcombe Road Market, opposite Bruce Grove Station, will be kitted out with new kiosks, pedestrian routes and modern paving, as part of an ambitious regeneration plan. Better signage will also be installed, improved car parking facilities will help attract more shoppers, and a new CCTV camera will enhance public safety in the area.
The plans were developed by Haringey Council in close consultation with the Bruce Grove Stakeholder Group, which brings together local residents and businesses. Replacing the ageing and unsuitable current market will bring a boost to existing traders as well as create new opportunities, with three more kiosks in the new plans.
Work will start on site on 29th February and is expected to be completed by late summer. Cllr Alan Strickland, Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration, said: “I’m delighted to see work start at Holcombe Road Market. We have worked closely with local people to identify what they would like to see improved at the market and it’s great to see that vision move another step closer to becoming a reality. This overhaul is set to make the market a safer, cleaner and more welcoming place for residents and shoppers to visit, as well as provide better facilities that will help to show off Tottenham’s fantastic range of local traders.

Traders will be temporarily relocated onto the High Road while the improvement work is carried out.
