Orelle, D&D London’s only Birmingham venue, have announced the appointment of their new Executive Chef, Kiran Suvarna. Kiran joins Orelle after running the kitchen’s at German Gymnasium, Klosterhaus, Skylon and Le Pont de la Tour.

Kiran has over 21-years’ experience in the hospitality industry. Born in Mumbai, Suvarna has been immersed in the hospitality industry for over 21 years. After completing his Post Graduation in Culinary Arts from Hammersmith & West London College, he worked with brands such as Taj, Hyatt, Hilton and quickly became appointed with D&D London Group as CDP at Le pont de la Tour and worked alongside his mentor, Chef Patron Lee Bennet, currently Global Director of Gordon Ramsey Group Holdings.

Suvarna has since moved to Singapore and cooked alongside 2 Michelin star Chef Jason Atherton in restaurant Pollen and Esquina and ran luxury hotel Oasia Downtown as their Head Chef. After exploring Singapore for 9 years, educating his palate further, he decided to move back to Mumbai in 2019 to connect back to his roots and explore Native Indian cuisine.

It was there where he was appointed the youngest Executive Chef at Le Meridien, Marriott International. He continued his journey in Mumbai where he worked as Director of Culinary at both Ninos and Francescos. 

Coming back to London in 2022, Suvarna returned to D&D London Group and ran German Gymnasium, Klosterhaus in Bristol, Skylon in Waterloo then came full circle back to Le Pont de la Tour. Kiran will now be making his Midlands debut at D&D’s only Birmingham venue, Orelle. Led by his expertise, he will inject a fresh experience to new menus to enhance the city’s restaurant scene.

Listed in the Harden’s Guide, in less than 6 months after launching in 2022 and being awarded Best Restaurant in Birmingham at this year’s British Restaurant Awards. Orelle’s restaurant is located on the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row and offer panoramic, unrivaled views of the city and beyond.
