People are being asked to have their say on a draft strategy which sets out the City of Wolverhampton Council’s vision to be an effective and trustworthy 'corporate parent'. The Corporate Parenting Strategy 2022-2025 outlines the key steps the council will take to ensure that children and young people in its care have the best possible outcomes in life.

Councillor Beverley Momenabadi, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "Every good parent needs to ensure that their children are safe and protected against danger, that they are ambitious, that they reach their full potential and that they are celebrated.

"A child who is cared for by the council has the right to expect everything from a corporate parent that would be expected from a good parent. The Corporate Parenting Strategy sets out our commitments to children and young people in our care and I would encourage people to help influence the development of the strategy by sharing their comments through this consultation."

The three-year Corporate Parenting Strategy has been co-produced with Wolverhampton's Children in Care Council, the Care Leavers Independent Collective and the Corporate Parenting Partnership Board. To take part in the consultation and read the draft strategy, visit https://bit.ly/3c7LHou.
