Music megastar to light up Tottenham
Award-winning rapper and hometown hero Wretch 32 will turn Tottenham festive next week as he switches on the Christmas lights at Haringey Council’s free Winter Festival. The bestselling artist, who grew up in the area’s Tiverton Estate, will be joined by Spurs legend Ledley King for the big switch-on at the family event on Tottenham Green on Saturday, 5 December.
Rockstar-turned-author beats Sir Ian McKellen in older people’s awards
A founding member of 90s indie rock band Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine, J.B. Morrison, has beaten thespian heavyweights including Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Derek Jacobi to win a prestigious Older People in the Media Award. Choir on song for festive treat
The Wolverhampton Orpheus Male Voice Choir will be in fine voice at the city's annual Civic Carol Service next month. The traditional service, which is open to all, takes place at Darlington Street Methodist Church on Wednesday 9 December, 2015, from 3.30pm and will be led by the Reverend David Lavender.
