The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), the drowning prevention charity, launched its first Open Water Festival at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire. The Ragley Crawl saw participants of mixed abilities from across the country take the plunge into open water at the estate’s lake for the charity’s first open water swimming event with all funds raised to go towards its drowning prevention work.

Due to instructions by her doctor, Kelly Clarkson has cancelled her upcoming UK tour including her show at the Genting Arena on 14 November 2015. Statement from the promoter: Regretfully, due to instruction of her doctor, Kelly Clarkson must remain on vocal rest for the remainder of the year resulting in the cancellation of her scheduled tour dates in Canada and the UK. All tickets will be refunded at the original point of purchase.

The serious business of what is humour will be put under the spotlight in new exhibition ‘This Is Not A Joke’ opening at Wolverhampton Art Gallery on Saturday - and featuring the work of eight internationally-renowned artists. Paintings, drawings, films and installations will make up the three-month show, which takes a wry look at the concept of humour and challenges people to have a serious think about it. 

Spooky fun is promised in Wolverhampton to mark Halloween. The City of Wolverhampton Council has teamed up with Harry Jones Leisure for a Halloween Carnival in Wolverhampton City Centre on Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, 2015. It features a giant fun fair, games and a competition for the best fancy dress costumes, along with the Signal 107 Roadshow and live music stage. Refreshments will be available.

The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) is turning 40 and has kicked off a year of celebrations with the official opening of the Piazza Garden – outdoor space which has been transformed to make it brighter and more fun. The Garden was opened at the 25th edition of Autumn Fair by organiser i2i Events. The NEC officially turns 40in February 2016 and the opening of the Piazza Garden is just the start of a series of events that will run right through until August next year.

Birmingham-based professional dance company, ACE dance and music, are excited to announce dates for the UK tour of their thought provoking and powerful dance production, MANA: The Power Within. Spot some of the scariest creatures in the ocean this 'Hallow-marine' as The Sea LifeLondon Aquarium puts the spotlight on some "Bogey-fish" of the deep. Guests should keep their eyes peeled for spooky images dotted on displays around the attraction revealing where these elusive bogey-fish dwell. Look out for the sneakiest, the Devil's Scorpionfish, which ambushes unsuspecting prey with it's gaping mouth.
