A team of accounting and finance recruitment specialists will be totting up the miles - and hopefully cash - when they don their cycling gear to raise vital funds for a West Midlands sports-themed charity next week. Part of the West Midlands Mayor’s Giving Month, Haig & Co of Calthorpe Road, Edgbaston, is to stage its annual Brummie Peloton, along with a bike ride, in aid of Digbeth-based Sport 4 Life UK on Saturday, September 25.

Doncaster Racecourse is celebrating the biggest week in its history, after 50,000 glamorous racegoers flocked to the stands to enjoy the four days of the Cazoo St Leger Festival. A far cry from the eery silence of 2020’s race, which took place behind closed doors. 

Reality TV stars from Made in Chelsea (Digby Edgeley & Julius Cowdrey), Love Island (Danny Williams), Married At First (Amy Christophers) & Survival of the Fittest (Samantha Dewhurst) were amongst the stylish racegoers who enjoyed festivities and horseracing, during an unusually sunny September week in Yorkshire.

Langley Swimming Centre in Oldbury is the first Sandwell Leisure Trust (SLT) facility to take up a new training tool as part of an exciting five-year partnership with Swim England.

Forty Level 2 swim teachers from across the Trust attended the Aquatic Skills Framework Stages 8-10 Diving CPD seminar, which is part of the Swim England extended education programme and provides the technical knowledge to deliver FUNdamental diving skills from the poolside in a fun and safe environment. 

After Emma Raducanu beat fellow teenager Leylah Fernandez 6-4 6-3 to end Britain's 44-year wait for a women's Grand Slam singles champion The Queen led the congratulations to her after the 18-year-old clinched the US Open title with a stunning victory in New York.

"I send my congratulations to you on your success," the Queen said. "It is a remarkable achievement at such a young age, and is testament to your hard work and dedication."

The Saudi Automobile & Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) – Promoter of the 2021 Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix – has officially begun its Official Attempt at assembling the world’s largest Lego brick build of a Formula 1 car today, with HRH Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, advisor to the governor of the Makkah Region and acting Governor of Jeddah and HRH Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, Chairman of SAMF, laying the first brick at the downtown activation site located by Jeddah’s Red Sea Mall.

The Official Attempt is being carried out as part of the Kingdom’s celebration of Formula 1’s imminent arrival on the streets of Jeddah in December and to raise vital funds for Ehsan - Saudi Arabia’s focal national charity.
