Walsall College held its prestigious V6 Awards Dinner on Tuesday 30^th June, to celebrate the success and achievements of the college’s V6 students.  During the evening, 23 outstanding students were presented with Student of the Year Awards for achieving excellence in their area of study, along with an additional award for overall V6 Student of the Year, which was this year awarded to two students for the first time.

A purpose-designed centre to make it easy for SMEs to engage with Birmingham’s five universities will be developed on land within Innovation Birmingham’s Faraday Wharf site. The Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLE) has awarded a £2.494m Local Growth Fund grant for the capital project. Subject to planning, the new facility will be open in 2016.

New research revealed to day at the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ International Conference shows significant inflammation in the post-mortem brains of schizophrenia patients, further establishing the role of the immune system in the development of this often debilitating mental illness.
