Amazon have introduced the International Journalism Festival Scholarship writing contest in which students from across Europe aged 19-25 are challenged to answer the question “What is the future of journalism?” in an essay 2,000 words or less. 

Concerns highlighted by Ofsted over the quality of secondary education in Sandwell’s schools, most of which are academies, have sparked a call for action to be taken to raise standards and improve GCSE results.
