Julius Meinl, the Viennese coffee roaster, is set to unveil its latest innovation which blends an artisanal experience with smart technology, allowing baristas to achieve perfection in every cup, every time. Launching to enhance worldwide coffee service, 1862 Premium New, which is the next generation of the existing 1862, has been built using state-of-the-art technology and design. Leveraging the latest coffee preparation technologies, it is a market-leading concept, which has been crafted in partnership with industry experts.

The machine features an inbuilt automatic tamper developed by Puqpress, a super-premium Espresso machine by Cimbali and a high-tech grinder with portafilter recognition by Mahlkönig.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Head of Innovation Christina Meinl, confirms that it's about creating the perfect synergy between best-in-class technology and the knowledge of the professional and the craftsmanship they can provide.

“With consumers growing more discerning about their coffee, the HoReCa industry is on a quest for perfection. Turning to tech is the natural step, but removing human hands entirely from the equation and delegating these tasks to a machine would diminish the experience.” “For that reason, we made it our mission to answer the call for improvement, making sure that our customers have a coffee experience that's personally satisfying and exceeds their expectations – every time.  We've worked with world-leading industry experts to find a balance between craftsmanship and technique, and the consistency that smart technology can provide. This is the future of coffee service” she concludes.

The heart of the concept is a three chambered Aroma Fez bean hopper which allows the beans to stay fresher for longer. When using the 1862 Premium New blend, which has been handed down through the generations of the Meinl family, the result is an exceptional coffee with rich, chocolaty notes together with a smooth aftertaste.

Julius Meinl is the global ambassador for Viennese coffee house culture, which is a melting pot of creativity and inspiration. Today, the brand operates in hotels, cafes and restaurants in upwards of 70 countries.

Julius Meinl's CEO, Marcel Löffler says “With the launch of the original 1862, we saw our customers benefit from enhanced functionality and premium coffee. Today, as we launch the next generation concept, we're taking this one step further to push the boundaries of coffee innovation. As a poetic brand with a rich heritage in creativity, we understand the importance of bringing flair and originality to every coffee and we're excited to see how baristas across the globe enter the next phase of excellence with 1862 Premium New.”
