Jess Phillips, MP for Birmingham Yardley, headed backstage to meet her own “Spitting Image” puppet following the world premiere of Idiots Assemble: Spitting Image Saves the World. The production is currently running at Birmingham Rep until Sat 11 Mar 2023.

Glastonbury rockers REEF will be hitting the road for a run of new UK shows in 2023. Licking off at Plymouth’s The Depø on 30th March 2023, the five-piece will be wrapping things up at Guildford Boileroom on 23 April. Since their formation in 1993, REEF have sold in excess of 3 million albums worldwide, with 9 UK Top 40 singles and 6 UK Top 40 albums, as well as penning arguably one of the biggest rock songs of the 90’s in their George Drakoulias-produced Top 10 single “Place Your Hands”.

The world premiere of Mojisola Adebayo’s Family Tree will launch at The Belgrade, playing from Tuesday 10 March until Saturday 18 March, with a national press night on Tuesday 14 March; the first stop on a 13 week, 12 venue national tour.

A co-production between the Actors Touring Company and the Belgrade, in association with Brixton House, Family Tree is a powerful and poetic new drama exploring race, health and the environment, inspired by the story of one of the most influential women of modern times, Henrietta Lacks, whose influence on modern-day medicine still reverberates today.

It has been 21 years since he last headlined in the Welsh capital, but legendary icon Sir Tom Jones has confirmed a date at Cardiff Castle this summer, as part of his ‘Ages and Stages’ tour.

The star will perform live in the castle grounds on Friday 21st July 2023. The announcement follows on from his appearance alongside the Stereophonics at two sell-out dates at the Principality Stadium last year.

Stephen Daldry’s seminal production of JB Priestly’s classic thriller, An Inspector Calls, will play at The Belgrade as part of its 30th anniversary celebration tour from Tuesday 28 February – Saturday 4 March, with a press performance on Tuesday 28 February. The cast will include Leamington-born actress Chloe Orrock, who plays ‘Sheila Birling’ who is delighted to be performing at her home theatre.

Chloe says, “I grew up coming to the Belgrade, and I have so many great memories of seeing amazing theatre here. I have always wanted to act here, so it is a real joy to be coming to the Belgrade with this incredible, iconic production.”
