Martin Lawrence, known for his roles in movies like Bad Boys, recently reassured fans about his health.
During an appearance on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning, the actor responded to the rumours sparked by incidents during his Bad Boys: Ride or Die press tour. Fans grew concerned after noticing Lawrence appeared to slur his words in a video interview and seemed unsteady at the Bad Boys premiere, where he held onto Will Smith for support.
Host Ebro Darden brought up these concerns during their chat, according to Variety. “Now Martin, everybody’s talking about you on the balcony waving at people, you’re looking around, where you’re looking around?
“Were you looking around like, ‘Yo, this is massive?'” Darden asked. “Because people took it like there was something wrong with your health.”
Lawrence explained that his reactions were simply due to the overwhelming crowd size at the premiere, saying: “I was like, oh, this is rock concert stuff. What the hell is going on? I was like, for a movie?”
When prompted to address the worries directly, Lawrence confidently stated, “I’m fine. I’m in God’s hands. I’m blessed, you know? I’m glad to be waking up every day. I’m all good. No need for people to be concerned.”
“I’m healthy as h—. Stop the rumours!” Lawrence emphasized.
Meanwhile, the concern for Lawrence’s health may have stemmed from a previous incident in 1999 when he collapsed from severe heat exhaustion and was hospitalized in a coma for 3 days.
