Nottinghamshire pupils receive hi-vis vests from homebuilder for Big Walk and Wheel

As part of its commitment to community safety and promoting active lifestyles, David Wilson Homes has made a bright contribution to Bingham Primary School.

The homebuilder gifted 70 high-visibility vests to the school, ensuring students can shine brightly during and following the Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel campaign, held from 11th to 22nd March. The donation came at a crucial time for the school, aligning with the annual Sustrans initiative to encourage students to adopt active modes of transportation, such as walking and cycling, to school.

By providing these vests, David Wilson Homes aims to enhance the safety of students as they navigate their daily journeys to and from school. Sara Pask, Headteacher at Bingham Primary School, said: “We are so grateful to David Wilson Homes for supporting the school once again.

“Safety is something we take very seriously, and the donation of hi vis vests really helped the pupils be seen during the Big Walk and Wheel, as well as afterwards when we are out and about in the community.” John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “Safety in the communities we build is paramount, especially when it comes to our children's daily commutes.

“By equipping Bingham Primary School students with these hi-vis vests, we hope to not only promote their visibility on the roads, but also to instil in them the importance of active transportation for a healthier and more sustainable future." Bingham Primary School is located near the homebuilder’s Romans’ Quarter development, and the donation of hi-vis vests is another part of David Wilson Homes’ outreach to the local community.
