Sand le Mere Holiday Village on the East Yorkshire coast has launched the UK's first smartphone photography course dedicated to taking better holiday pictures. The class is run by Elaine Taylor (@sunflowerof21), one of the UK's leading mobile phone photographers and a recent winner at the worldwide iPhone Photography Awards. Holiday snappers will be given a crash course on how to get the most from the camera on their mobile phone, with Elaine giving tips on lighting, composition, perspective and using image-editing apps.

The three-hour lesson includes a practical session with participants encouraged to explore Sand le Mere's coastal setting in search of the perfect picture.

Sand le Mere's smartphone photography class is free to guests of the holiday village, with three-night weekend breaks available from just £166 for a two-bedroom caravan sleeping up to six. The course launches on Saturday 17 September, with two sessions available during the day.

Says Elaine Taylor: "Having a smartphone in your pocket means it's easy to take lots of family snaps, especially on holiday, but it's so simple that we give less thought to getting the best shots and that results in hundreds of photos we rarely look at again.

"With a little more thought and creative use of apps we can transform our holiday snaps into something special. That's what this course is all about."

Says Amby Tatla, general manager at Sand le Mere: "With sea views, a rugged coast and rolling countryside, Sand le Mere offers a picture-perfect backdrop for memorable family photos. We're really excited about giving our guests the chance to become super snappers."
