Blackpink star Jennie Kim has addressed claims that some of her historic performances lacked energy, saying she was often experiencing physical pain.

The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) have released production images of the revival of The Empress, which will run in the Swan Theatre from Friday 7 July to Friday 15 September 2023, with press night on Tuesday 18 July before transferring to the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre in London from Wednesday 4 October to Saturday 28 October, with press night on Tuesday 10 October. The production will then return to the Swan Theatre from Wednesday 1 November to Saturday 18 November 2023.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre’s second company is returning to Birmingham Hippodrome on Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 October as part of its first UK tour since 2011.

The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has announced that comedian and screenwriter Stewart Lee will rewrite a contemporary version of the Porter scene, featuring Alison Peebles as the Porter, in Wils Wilson’s upcoming production of Shakespeare’s gripping and brutal tragedy, Macbeth.
Stewart Lee said: “I am delighted to have been asked by Wils Wilson to rewrite the rubbish Porter scene from Shakespeare’s Macbeth, which is in dire need of a post-alternative comedy makeover. Alison Peebles is an inspired piece of casting sure to bring the requisite level of attack. At the moment the scene is 2 hours long but hopefully will expand in rehearsal.”

On Sunday 3 September, children aged 9-16 from across the city and Warwickshire are invited to audition to be part of the legendary Belgrade panto. A total of 32 children will be selected to be part of the show, with the region’s most talented young performers making up three teams of eight, plus one full team of reserves.

It was announced that the city of Malmö is to host next year's 68th Eurovision song contest, following Sweden's victory in Liverpool in May. The coastal town was selected ahead of the country’s capital, Stockholm, after organisers were said to have discussions with several other cities.

Sweden's Loreen won Eurovision 2023 with her soaring pop anthem Tattoo. The star, who also won the competition in 2012, saw off competition from Finland's Käärijä in a nail-biting vote.
