On June 26 in Barcelona, at the closing event of the Fab Awards, Sandro Bottega, President of Bottega Spa, was awarded a special prize for “Outstanding Contribution to the Airport F&B Industry” for his extraordinary contribution to the food and beverage sector in airports.
In announcing the award, Martin Moodie, founder and President of the Moodie Davitt Report, which established and organised the Fab Awards, described the Italian entrepreneur as a ‘globetrotting business genius’. Martin Moodie added: ‘Sandro Bottega created the Prosecco Bar concept which, thanks to collaboration with qualified partners, now has 30 locations in Europe and Asia.
Together, they serve approximately 1.5 million customers a year, delighting them with targeted gastronomic offerings and giving them a smile, along with the pleasure of a glass of wine.’ The FAB Awards, organised by the Moodie Davitt Report, is an important event designed to celebrate excellence in the food & beverage sector in the Travel Retail channel.
The 2025 edition was organised and sponsored by the Aena group, which wanted to bring this prestigious event to Barcelona, a city known worldwide for its culinary heritage and vibrant cultural life. The FAB Awards, whose first edition was held in Manchester in 2011, returned after a few years to Europe, where it originated and gradually acquired the strong prestige that distinguishes awards in the Travel Retail sector.
