FYC – the British brand for mixed-textured hair – is looking for a face (or faces!) of the brand, in partnership with BOSS Model Management and DJ/presenter Dev Griffin. The search coincides with the brand’s first birthday, having launched in September 2020.

FYC celebrates all of the beauty of being mixed-heritage Afro-European, whatever the gender, whatever the age. As such, the search is open to ALL mixed-heritage people with fabulous curls, a great look and personality to match!

The Minamiza theatre, Kyoto, is recording live performances of the ‘Cho Kabuki’ stage productions, for audiences to watch on demand. This is after it was postponed last year due to the pandemic. The live recordings will take place on 12/09 and the on-demand service will be available from 20/09, 4am BST - 26/09, 3:59pm BST. Tickets are available to purchase now.

‘Cho Kabuki’, established in 2016, is a unique stage performance which combines kabuki, a form of traditional Japanese theatre with a 400-year history, and ‘Kirari!’, cutting-edge Ultra-realistic Communication Technology from Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Co. (“NTT”).

Today, organisers have announced the first details of the Birmingham 2022 Festival - a six-month celebration which will be spotlighting creativity and culture in the West Midlands. Running from March to September 2022 as part of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, the festival will feature hundreds of creative commissions across the region including art, photography, dance, theatre, digital art and more.

Members of the public are urged to register at birmingham2022.com/festival to be amongst the first to discover the full programme when it is unveiled in January. Those who sign up will also receive more information in the coming months about further opportunities to be involved in the festival.

The music keeps on flowing for Trinidad-born Swiss artiste Natalyah. Following the successful late Spring release of the soothing song ‘Save Meh’, Natalyah is once again bending genres and combining Caribbean elements for her latest Reggae-refix to her previously released Chutney-Soca track ‘Wine Out The Fever’.

Wine Out The Fever which was originally recorded by Natalyah in the Chutney-Soca genre was produced by Rishi Mahato of Maha Productions and written by Fazad ‘Uncle Joe’ Shageer.

Introducing a new pop-leaning sound with his current single ‘California’ resulted in Toby Johnson hitting key playlists including New Music Friday (Spotify) and New Music Daily (Apple Music) while also gaining fresh airplay at BBC Introducing. Now he channels the song’s escapist themes by hitting the open road for its official video.

The video sees Toby jump into an old school Ford Calypso convertible before taking a drive around the Essex countryside.

The world’s first brand developed to promote the health and maintenance of uncut beard and hair is releasing a new Punjabi song to create awareness about these important aspects of religious identity for Sikhs.

‘The Sardar Co’ hopes their new song will give young men and women confidence to keep and maintain beautiful hair and beards, particularly when it is a mainstay of their faith, culture or tradition.
