This past Juneteenth Weekend in the United States, the Hookie Life Entertainment team once again delivered another successful execution of its beloved, annual summertime staple ‘Hookie Weekend’. Caribbean culture was on full display during this line-up of exciting events which attracted thousands of festival lovers to the Washington DC metropolitan region for full a weekend of unmatched revelry.

The tiny Caribbean island of St. Eustatius – known affectionately as Statia - has taken one giant step towards environmental preservation with a commitment to develop critical environmental protection rules.

In keeping with a central government mandate to protect the environment in Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba, known as the BES islands, the Public Entity St. Eustatius and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management have signed a letter of intent to work together to effectively implement the environmental legislation, thus contributing to sustainable economic growth on the island.

The stage is set for a major improvement in both the quantity and quality of social housing in St. Eustatius with the signing this week of a €4 million cooperation agreement by the Public Entity St. Eustatius, the Island Council, the Ministry of Public Housing and Spatial Planning, the Statia Housing Foundation and the Dutch Housing Corporation, Bazalt Wonen.
