The atrocities committed against enslaved people and Africans in the Caribbean, including the Dutch Caribbean, are too many to count.

We know of the long hours our ancestors were forced to work in unforgiving sunshine to enrich their enslavers. We shall never forget the many revolting and abominable acts of cruelty inflicted on our people.

Qatar Airways, the Official Airline Partner of FIFA, concluded its FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 journey in style, presenting the medals and individual awards to Argentina after their historic 4-2 victory on penalties over 2018 champions, France. "When we started in 1997 no one knew what wine was," remembers Rajeev Samant, the founder of India's Sula Vineyards. "All liquor shops in India were called wine shops, so people thought wine meant liquor," he says.

For several years, Mykerline Stéphane Brice had her heart set on pursuing studies in tourism management, but at every turn, a lack of funding got in the way. Instead of purchasing water in bottles that often end up in landfills, customers purchase cards to use at water kiosks, or Water ATMs, akin to a bank’s automated teller machine. The water is filtered to ensure safety and is sold at a fixed price of just 8 cents per 20 liters.

Students in Costa Rica are learning the science, technology and English language skills needed to excel at international companies.

U.S. tech firm Intel’s cooperation with the Skills 4 Life program helped train more than 160 students from Costa Rica’s Limón province in 2021. Approximately 170 kilometers east of San José on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast, Limón is home to many people of Indigenous and African descent who are underrepresented in higher education.
