Those visiting the Welsh coast from the Midlands this sunny Easter weekend will be able to enjoy a taste of home with pies made in the heart of the Black Country, thanks to a venture by Mad O’Rourkes Pie Factory. Iconic dishes such as the Posh ‘n’ Becks (steak and stilton); Wham Bam, Thank You Lamb (minted lamb), and the Andy Murray (curry pie) are being sold at a pub on the seafront at Aberdovey - a popular destination for holidaymakers from the Midlands, given it is one of their nearest coastal getaways.

Tipton-based pie makers Mad O’Rourke’s Pie Factory is raising a toast this week as it celebrates the anniversary of the launch of their popular Pies by Post home delivery service.

Faced with the prospect of being unable to welcome diners to their Tipton pub and restaurant during lockdown, Mad O’Rourke’s owners launched Pies by Post in March 2021 to bring its famous pies to the masses. 

A brand new restaurant is opening its doors in Warwick this week, marking the next chapter for one of the town's well-known pubs. No. 34 Garden & Grill has opened its doors, transforming the former Racehorse pub on Stratford Road into a unique bar and restaurant for Warwickshire.

Independent coffee house Damascena has relocated its head offices to Birmingham after agreeing an additional 1,200 sq ft lease at SevenCapital’s Lyndon House development in Edgbaston.
